Employers
are increasingly aware of the benefits of addressing employee’s concerns
related to child care. Research shows that employees who are not
worrying about who is looking after their children are happier and more
productive, contributing to an improved bottom line. Florida’s Child
Care Executive Partnership Program sets aside $15 million to fund child
care for the working poor whose earnings are at or below 200 percent of
the federal poverty level.
Through this program,
employers can contribute funds to help pay a portion of the child care
costs for their employees who meet the income guidelines. The employers
contribution is then matched dollar-for-dollar by the State.
